- Colgate-Palmolive Company (New York, NY) receives US Patent 7622436 for "Cleaning composition comprising a
ternary surfactant system in combination with dipropyl or diisopropyl adipate solvent". The compositions comprise an aqueous component; an organic solvent; an anionic surfactant; an amine co-surfactant containing either (a) an N- oxide group or (b) a zwitterionic group; and a nonionic surfactant; in a form of a microemulsion or microemulsion preconcentrate. Methods of cleaning a hard surface using such compositions are also described
- Nippon Menard Cosmetic Co., Ltd. (Nagoya-Shi, JP) receives US Patent No 7618638 for "Matrix metalloprotease
inhibitor". The invention provides a preventive and relieving medicine for activated matrix metalloproteinase-causing disorders, based on extract of Ganoderma mushroom. The extract of Ganoderma mushroom has MMP inhibiting behavior and is effective for prevention, suppression, and symptomatic relief of various activated MMP-causing disorders and diseases, such as metastasis of cancers, ulceration, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoporosis, periodontitis, and aging of skin
- DOW CORNING CORPORATION applies for a world patent WO2009/129179 related to "EMULSIONS OF BORON
CROSSLINKED ORGANOPOLYSILOXANES AND THEIR USE IN PERSONAL CARE COMPOSITIONS". The patent discloses the preparation of an emulsion composition by forming a mixture of a silanol functional organopolysiloxane, a boron compound, an emulsifier, and then admixing water to the mixture to form an emulsion. The resulting emulsions are useful for providing benefits in personal care applications, particularly hair, skin and antiperspirant applications.
- Biogen IDEC International GmbH (Zug, CH) Receives US Patent 7619001 for "Utilization of dialkylfumarates" The
invention relates to the use of dialkyl fumarates for the preparation of pharmaceutical preparations for use in transplantation medicine or for the therapy of autoimmune diseases and said compositions in the form of micro- tablets or pellets. The dialkyl fumarates may also be used in combination with conventional preparations used in transplantation medicine and immunosuppressive agents, especially cyclosporines.
- Kuraray Medical Inc. (Kurashiki-shi, JP) receives US Patent No: 7615582 for "One-pack type adhesive composition
for dental use". This is a one-part dental adhesive composition that exhibits high adhesive strength and high storage stability in adhesion between a teeth, enamel or dentine, and a dental repairing material, and a resin material, is provided. Since the adhesive composition is one-part type, there is no need to mix in an adhering operation, and in addition, it exhibits high adhesive strength without performing preprocessing (etching processing and priming.
- Antoxis Limited (Aberdeen, GB) receives US Patent 7,601,754: "Flavonoid compounds as therapeutic antioxidants"
The compounds have been shown to exhibit anti-oxidative properties in biological systems and their utility in a sunscreen or skin care composition or to treat conditions involving oxidative damage, especially curative or prophylactic treatment of Alzheimer's disease or ischaemia-reperfusion injury, is described.
- Croda, Inc. (Edison, NJ, USA) receives US Patent 7,611,725 for "Additives and products including oligoesters". The
invention relates to oligoesters containing additives and/or oligoesters themselves which may be used for formulating pharmaceutical preparations, cosmetics or personal care products such as shampoos and conditioners. These oligoesters are particularly useful for the creation of multi-purpose additives that can impart conditioning, long substantivity and/or UV protection.
- ANGUS CHEMICAL COMPANY applies for a World Patent WO2009/140061 for AMINOALCOHOL AND BIOCIDE
COMPOSITIONS FOR AQUEOUS BASED SYSTEMS. The invention discloses a biocidal compositions and use in aqueous media, such as metalworking fluids, the compositions combine a biocidal agent and a non-biocidal primary amino alcohol compound.
- L'Oreal (Paris, FR) receives US patent 7,622,104: "Methods for relaxing and re-waving hair comprising a reducing
agent and a hydroxide compound". The methods and kits for lanthionizing hair fibers to achieve relaxation of the fibers, and methods and kits for re-waving the fibers by applying a pretreatment composition of one reducing agent chosen from thiols, sulfites, etc and followed by a composition comprising a hydroxide compound, and heating the hair.
- L'Oreal (Paris, FR) receives US patent 7,618,617 for "Aqueous hair treatment compositions, thickened with an
amphiphilic linear block copolymeran" The invention is related to the use of a water-soluble or water-dispersible linear block copolymer comprising at least one hydrophulic block and at least one hydrophobic block, urethane and siloxane units, no PEG or PEG-free, to thicken or gel aqueous hair treatment compositions...
- Procter & Gamble receives a United States Patent 7,598,213 for a novel conditioning shampoo compositions
containing select cationic conditioning polymers. The cationic polymer has a cationic charge density from about 2 meq/gm to 10 meq/gm. The cationic polymer, in combination with anionic detersive surfactant component and other essential components, provides improved deposition of the conditioning agent (silicone or oil) on hair or skin.
- Suprapolix B.V (Eindhoven, NL) received United States Patent 7,622,131 for "Siloxane polymers with quadruple
hydrogen bonding units". The patent covers the synthesis of the polymers which are effective to gel cyclomethicone. The gels are the base for the preparation of a number of cosmetic products.
- Independent Inventors, Benabdillah; K. et-al, apply for a US patent (Appl 20090269295) for a creative hair fixative
composition containing non-silicone fatty substances, surfactants, vinylformamide/vinylamine copolymers, and silicones. The composition is claimed to be good for the styling of the hair and can make possible to obtain a lasting hold of the hairstyle and also hair conditioning properties. .
- BioDerm Research (Scottsdale, AZ, USA) receives US Patent 7,615,546 for "Topical delivery system for
phytosterols". This invention relates to certain sugar esters of phytosterols. These esters are claimed to be useful for topical application, and for the treatment of various types of skin conditions. The patent describes in a simple and elegant way, the synthesis of the compounds and substantiation examples.
- THE ESTEE LAUDER COS, Inc. has applied for a US Patent (Appl 20090285866) for unique "Self-healing polymer
compositions" for a hair and skin care containing a blend of hyaluronic acid as the film-former and a porous polymeric release system.
- L'Oreal obtains patent for shampoo with high contact angle amodimethicone. See formulation.
- Hercules obtains patent for the formulation of shampoo with cationic, oxidized polysaccharides for hair conditioning
